Customs hiding weapons sale

TIRANA, July 2 – A local newspaper reported Wednesday that the main customs department had hidden the sale of weapons last year.
Gazeta Shqiptare newspaper reported that the customs department reported zero arms sale from Albania in 2007, at a time when the Albanian Center for International Trade reports 284 million leks in sales to Afghanistan, the U.S., Argentina, Germany and Italy. Most of the sales were for ammunition. The newspaper wrote that the ammunition was sold by Mihal Delijorgji, owner of the Albdemil company that also disposed of ammunition in Gerdec where the March 15 blast killed 26 persons and injured 300.
