TIRANA, June 29 – Defense Minister Gazmend Oketa has visited Croatia to meet with his counterpart, Branko Vukelic and Croatian president Stipe Mesic and, also, take part in the Adriatic Aurora 08 joint military exercises. Albania and Croatia have been invited to become full NATO members. Both countries will sign the formal protocol next month and hope to see it ratified by all NATO members, thus making it possible for receiving full membership next year.
The exercise was held with some 1,800 troops from the United States (Vermont, New Jersey and Minnesota), Croatia, Albania and Macedonia. (Tirana Times Staff)
