Delegation present at Kosovo ceremonies

TIRANA, Feb. 17 – A big delegation from Albania, headed by Culture Minister Ferdinand Dervishi was present in Kosovo capital Prishtina Wednesday to take part in the celebrations for its second anniversary of independence.
Xhaferri, accompanied by ambassador Islam Lauka and also football federation head Armando Duka, met with President Fatmir Sejdiu.
The Albanian football national team also played a friendly with the Kosovar one on that occasion.
On Feb. 17, 2010, marking two years since it unilaterally declared independence from Serbia, Kosovo expressed high hopes about United Nations membership and vowed to work to get more countries to recognize it also inviting Serbia to join the ranks of those who do.
Belgrade, in turn, reaffirmed its continued rejection of Kosovo as independent, and claimed a success by saying that less than a third of the world’s countries deemed Kosovo to be an independent state.
Kosovo has been recognized by 65 countries, including the United States and 22 of the 27 EU member states.
