Democratic candidate wins by-elections in Kashar

KASHAR, July 28 – Besnik Fucia of the Democratic party came out victorious in the by-elections held in the Kashar commune near Tirana.
The opposition Socialist candidate came in second. The Movement for Integration and an independent candidate were the other three runner-ups.
The by-elections were held after the government dismissed the previous head of the commune who was accused of corruption. (Tirana Times Staff)
