POLICAN, June 23 – Dirty drinking water caused the poisoning of scores of persons in the central town of Polican, according to health authorities. Authorities called on people to stop using that area’s water. However, they could not provide a solution to the problem, as the depots were located inside a former military base. Authorities appealed to the central government to coordinate efforts with the water department and the defense ministry in order to bring the depot under control.
Scores of people were taken to hospitals last week, suffering poisoning from the water.
