Drug traffic stopped

TIRANA, March 15 – Police realized a successful operation in stopping the trafficking of drugs across the country.
Top policeman Hysni Burgaj said that police had managed to stop 676.25 kilograms of cannabis sativa from being transported into neighboring Greece
Burgaj said police had seen a speed boat trying to come from the northern Greek island of Corfu. Then they had found the drugs in a van in Bunec beach, in southernmost Saranda district packed in 18 sport bags.
Police declared Kledian Koka, 31, at large accusing him of being the driver of the van.
In another operation in capital Tirana police arrested three persons after finding three kilograms of heroin on them.
Following a quarrel two persons had gone to the Military hospital to be taken care of. Following that police started an operation and arrested 3 persons in the Farke commune near the capital who were responsible for injuring the two other persons. Police found at their homes 2.815 kilograms of heroin and also a considerable amount of ammunition.
