TIRANA, Dec 16 – Daan Everts, who once headed the Tirana office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, may be chosen to head the team of international observers for Albania’s next general election, according to local media reports.
The former Dutch ambassador was in Albania after the 1997 year of anarchy and has been known for not getting along well with then-opposition Democrats and their leader, Sali Berisha.
The OSCE has always been leading the international monitors with their team of experts from ODIHR.
