TIRANA, Nov 2 – An Albanian with an international arrest warrant was extradited from Italy to face trial in his homeland.
There had been an international arrest warrant out for Edison Begaj, 29, for drug and weapon trafficking.
In 2008 police captured 284 kilograms of drugs, five weapons and ammunition that were allegedly to be trafficked by Begaj.
Fighting illegal trafficking remains a main priority for the daily work of the Albanian police.
