TIRANA, April 27 – There are regular extraditions every week with Albanians usually sentenced abroad and following bilateral agreements between Tirana and other countries, eager to bring back home them and release their prisons.
Last week Genci Dadushi, 37, was arrested in Mazzano, Italy based on an international arrest warrant issued from Tirana Interpol. In 2008 he was sentenced to three years imprisonment for not paying taxes in Elbasan. Following the extradition procedures he is expected to be back to Albania to serve his sentence.
On Tuesday this week Agim Sufa, 40, was extradited from Madrid, Spain. Sufa was issued an arrest warrant in 2008 for illegally assisting persons to cross the border and also being part of a criminal grouping. In 2008 they assisted 44 persons from Patok, Lac district to illegally cross the border.
Raimonda Asllani, 46, on Wednesday was extradited from Rome, Italy. In 2007 the Tirana district court had sentenced her to five years imprisonment for deceit. She asked considerable amount of money for illegally claiming she could issue western visas.
