Fighting drug traffic, a top priority

TIRANA, Nov 17 – Fighting drug traffic in the country remains the police top priority. That was also confirmed in the arrests they have made during the last few days.
In an operation codenamed Bujtina (motel) police arrested four persons in the capital Tirana. All of them teenagers from 14 to 17 years old.
They were stopped at a main boulevard with some 1.25 kilograms of cannabis sativa made ready to be sold in small proportions.
Police also arrested two young men, Jotjol Gjergji Berdilla, 21, and Armando Kadri Hysnelaj, 22, also caught while selling some 16 grams of cannabis downtown in the capital.
Gentian Ymer Kaca, 22, was arrested on another main street in Tirana with a few grams of heroin.
Mikel Hamza Aliko, 21, and Donald Bexhet Aliko, 20, both residents of Lazarat commune in southern Gjirokast첬 were arrested when found with 93 kilograms of marijuana in their cars. They resisted police but neither police nor they suffered any injuries when arrested. They allegedly aimed to traffic the drugs to neighboring Greece.
In another operation Leandro Leonard Lanej, 22, was arrested in Tirana when found with more than five grams of cannabis.
Two other persons were also detained by police in the capital, Barent Tom P쭬umbi, 18, and Antonio Vat Leka, 23, suspected as traffic distributors having some 35 grams of cannabis with them in their car.
