TIRANA, Aug 24 – Tirana’s first landfill to dispose of its garbage will be opened by the end of August, according to the Tirana City Hall.
That is the first landfill of its kind in the country.
The landfill is part of a 6 million euro Italian funded program that is to construct five parcels for landfill in the next year, thus providing a solution to the problem of disposing the capital’s waste. The first landfill has a capacity of two million cubic meters. (Tirana Times Staff)
