Floods continue to over run land

SHKODRA, March 1 – Thousands of hectares of agriculture land and hundreds of homes remained flooded and hundreds of people evacuated early this week in the northern Shkodra district.
The Interior Ministry reported Monday that 5,700 hecaes of land were flooded, hundreds of homes under or surrounded by water, but luckily energy authorities closed the discharging door of the main Fierza hydropower station following the end of the pressing rain and snow in the northern area.
Many roads to Shkodra communes remained under water and hundreds of army and Interior Minsitry personnel contoinued to assist the popualtion there.
Meanwhile people started to complain they were still not compensated for the losses of the first flood in January and that also the amount of money, an average of 1,000 euro per house, was not enough to repair their damaged lives.
