TIRANA, March 15 – The Finance Ministry reported that it had made bank transfers of the required amount of recompensation to the first 60 former political persecuted persons.
The total list reaches about 15,000 but the first 1,400 will get their compensations in the near future since they have already filled out the required documentation.
The people were required to open bank deposits to get their money.
That is an electoral move on the part of the government as the center-right Democratic Party has long considered the formerly politically persecuted as their supporters.
