Fraud suspect extradited from Greece

TIRANA, May 24 – Police reported that Indrit Aliu, 26, was extradited from Greece last week. Interpol Tirana had issued an international arrest warrant for Aliu who is accused of fraud, stealing large amounts from businesses.
Aliu had gone to certain investors and managed to scheme them out of them huge amounts of money for different fake transactions, police say.
He was then arrested last November in neighboring Greece where he had escaped afterwards.
Police are still investigating to find the place where the money have been taken from Aliu.
Interpol Tirana also reported that Gezim Cingu, 40, was extradited from Athens, Greece to sever his seven year imprisonment at home.
In 2006 Cingu was sentenced to disillusionment for theft. Together with another person Cingu had gone to a painting studio, broke the door and stole some paintings.
