TIRANA, Nov 9 – German Bundesrat ratified Albania’s Stabilization and Association Agreement. Only two countries of the European Union have remained to ratify it, including Greece that has said that has been delayed due to long translation procedures.
The SAA was signed in 2006 and that is considered as the first step toward membership.
After that the country should normally apply for the candidate status and if fulfilling all its requirements then it may apply for full membership, a process that will likely take too long for the country.
