SARANAD, March 23 – The Ethnic Greek Minority for the Future, or MEGA, is the name of the new political party created in Albania from the ranks of the ethnic Greek minority organization Omonia.
It was learnt that the founding meeting was held by a group of more than twenty founders in the Finiq village in southern Saranda district last week.
The temporary leader elected was Kristaq Kico.
The new grouping is considered to be the followers of the Omonia organization.
Besides that, the Greek minority is also represented by the Human Rights Union Party of Vangjel Dule. This party formally also represents all the minorities in the country but every one believes that is the formal part as it actually represents the ethnic Greek community in the country. Its leader was elected in the new parliament in the elections last year.
The creation of the new party is a reflection of the disagreements among leaders of the ethnic Greek community in the country.
