Greek police blocks weapons allegedly coming from Albania

THESSALONIKI, Jan 19 – Greek police said Monday they found three automatic weapons and 34,000 bullets in a stolen car later abandoned in the northern city of Thessaloniki. Police believe the arms were left in the auto by weapons smugglers.
In Greece, the smuggling of weapons is common, often coming from neighboring Albania, where army bases were looted during deadly rioting in 1997.
