Honoring Kaczynski, Tirana says a European leader has been lost

TIRANA, April 12 – Albanian top officials sent messages of condolence to the Polish authorities for the tragic death in a plane crash of President Lech Kaczynski.
President Bamir Topi, Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli, Prime Minister Sali Berisha and Foreign Minister Ilir Meta sent letters to their Polish counterparts expressing their condolences for the death of the president and 95 other passengers, including his wife, the delegation of Polish dignitaries flying to Smolensk to participate in the commemorative ceremony in Katyn, Russia.
All of them told their Polish counterparts that Albania stood along them in the pain of these moments of national mourning as a result of the tragedy.
