Human traffickers arrested

TIRANA, Jan. 25 – Police reported the arrest of Agim Sufa, 37, who had been previously sentenced for kidnapping.
Sufa is suspected of being part of a group of persons illegally trafficking persons. He was the last to be arrested following four other arrests.
The group had allegedly tried to use land transport in Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia and then Italy.
The group is also a suspect of organizing the transport, with a speedboat containing 33 persons, from northern Lac to Italy, which was prevented by police.
Also, in the southern Saranda district, police stopped 22 persons from illegally crossing the border into neighboring Greece.
When the group was stopped they found traveling in three cars at Qafe e Muzines. Police arrested three persons thought to be the organizers of the traffic.
In Kavaja police arrested Petro Ndrica who was trying to smuggle four persons into Greece and be paid 2,300-2,500 from each of the people.
