Journalist’ car is set on fire

TIRANA, Jan 5 – The BMW auto belonging to Mero Baze, publisher of Tema daily newspaper, was burned on the night before the New Year when parked near his apartment in Tirana.
There were no injuries or other damages, which moved Baze, who has been in a furious clash with the government and Prime Minister Sali Berisha, to charge the fire was a sign from the executive that he should stop criticizing the government.
Baze has published personal criticism of Berisha and his family. Baze had once been the main adviser to Berisha.
Baze is also in a clash with the government, which is seeking his being vacated from the building rents for his printing house.
Police have not released their final conclusion, only saying that all experts were involved in investigating the causes of the fire.
The opposition exploited the incident to criticize the government for not accepting criticism by anyone who opposes it.
