Journalists protest for their status

TIRANA, July 16 – Albanian journalists held a rally in front of the parliament in a series of protests against the poor treatment they receive from media owners. That protest also aimed to warn that journalists expect the new draft law regarding their status should define their work rights. Many journalists complain they do not get paid on time and that they may be easily fired by owners because they lack a proper contract. (Tirana Times Staff)
