Journalists threatened

TIRANA, Dec. 1 – The Union of Journalists Association complained last Friday that four journalists؍atilda Troka, Irma Hoxhaj, Xhemil Beharaj and Vladimir Mucajةn the southernwestern city of Fier were threatened by a senior taxation official. They received threats and anonymous phone calls into which an investigation has already been started. The Union considered such threats as direct pressure. The Union asked local authorities in Fier to clarify the case and also to guarantee the security of the journalists in their professions. It appealed to all the media outlets in the country to show solidarity and to denounce such an act.
