TIRANA, March 10 – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ilir Meta will hold a two-day visit in Belgrade, Serbia where he is to meet with top officials there.
Meta is to meet with Serbian President Boris Tadic, Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Delic and his counterpart Vuk Jeremic.
Bilateral ties and their role in the Balkan stability will be the focus of their talks.
Beta news agency learned that Meta will attend the commemoration of the anniversary of Prime Minister Zoran Dindic’s assassination at the Albanian embassy in Belgrade.
It is not mentioned if Kosovo will also be discussed there. It is well known that Tirana and Belgrade oppose each other on the view of Kosovo which declared independence two years ago.
Belgrade has never accepted that while Tirana is trying to urge more countries to be added to the 65 existing ones which recognize the new state.
Meta’s visit will be the first official one to Belgrade since 2005.
