TIRANA, Nov 5 – A report of the High State Control said that government institutions had abused some 2.7 billion leks, something which runs contrary to what the government has said as reducing its expenses and fighting corruption.
The accounting officials had checked 107 times in the last nine months at the government offices finding irregularities and violations costing the government a damage of more than 2.7 billion leks for the last three years governed from the Democratic Party of Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
The accountability office also reported they had started indictment for 24 officials.
Customs remain a main source of abuse following research work in the offices in many cities and border crossing points.
