TIRANA, Dec 23 – More western European countries have ratified the NATO membership protocol Albania signed with the alliance in July and which is to be ratified by all its member counties before Tirana may get full membership.
Earlier this year NATO offered the membership invitation to Albania and Croatia. Both countries hope they will become full members at its next summit celebrating its 60th anniversary in April.
Following the approval from parliamentary commissions last week Britain made the depositing of the ratification, which is the final stage in that process.
The same was also done by Italy this week.
Estonian parliament also ratified Albania’s membership protocol.
