TIRANA, March 9 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha met with Secretary General of the Atlantic Treaty Association Troels Froling to talk on the work and ATA contribution about informing the public and promoting the vision of peace, global security and values of freedom and democracy that the North Atlantic Alliance represents.
The Atlantic Treaty Association is an international non-governmental organization founded on June 18, 1954 to support the NATO mission through awareness and support of international public opinion to the common Euro-Atlantic values that NATO upholds. The ATA draws together political leaders, academics, and diplomats in an effort to further the values set forth in the North Atlantic Treaty that consists of more than 42 member countries.
Froling thanked the support that the government of Albania gives to holding of the 56th General Assembly of the Atlantic Treaty Association meeting in Tirana in autumn 2010.
Senior NATO officials are expected to take part in this rather important event along with distinguished personalities from 42 NATO member and partner countries which are part of the Atlantic Treaty Association, top political personalities of the countries of our Western Balkans region included.
