SHKODRA, Jan. 26 – A new case of meningitis was discovered last week in northern Shkodra.
Llesh Mjekaj, 76, a resident of Karme village, was found to be infected by meningitis. He was immediately transported to Tirana where specialized doctors are available to treat the disease. The country has had 12 cases of meningitis in recent months, including two deaths, though medical sources deny the deaths were caused by that illness.
