TIRANA, Dec. 6 – The main opposition Socialist Party sent an offer with some requests to the parliament on how to resolve the political deadlock that is blocking the country’s reforms for more than a year and a half the Socialists do not stick any more to partial reopening of the ballot boxes for a recount but ask for an investigation of the electoral documents.
The socialists complain that the governing Democrats have manipulated the vote count in last year’s parliamentary elections.
They have made all the forms of protests, starting from the rallies in the streets, parliament boycott, hunger strike, boycott of voting in parliament and also trying to get European Union mediation in the story.
But the Democrats have insisted that anything they have should be in line with the country’s laws and the Constitution, they ask the Socialists to send their complaints to the courts to be resolved.
At this moment, following such a recent offer they are delaying their formal answer.
But the situation when everything is focused at the flooding in the north is a sign that there’ll be no result, or positive step from such talks.
The political deadlock is hampering many reforms which the country needs along its integration efforts into the European Union.
