TIRANA, March 11 – The government was accused of distributing 1, 200, 000. expired face masks to medical staff by the Democratic Party. The masks have expired since December 2011, therefore posing a threat to the health of doctors by causing irritation of skin, according to the Democratic Party.
In this line, the opposition leader Lulzim Basha, added that the government is not doing enough to contain the spread of the coronavirus and therefore it needs to provide more beds and other necessary equipment to medical staff in public hospitals.
PM Rama later responded that the claims of the opposition are causing panic and that the masks do not pose any risks, despite having expired.
“There is only one harmful mask in Albania; the masks of those who when the country struggles with life, under earthquake debris or with a threatening virus, do not stop seeking power with slander, hassle, and clutter,” he tweeted.
