Opposition wants premier in parliament for prices hike

TIRANA, Feb. 13 – The opposition has asked Prime Minister Sali Berisha to respond to their call for a parliamentary report on the increase of the price for bread and other basic food items.
The opposition claims that the government should be capable to intervene and stop any abuse with the price from businesses and has called absurd the premier’s answer that it is up to the market to set prices and authorities could do nothing about that.
Opposition Socialists also said they would ask for other parliamentary debates on the electricity supply and its price that could also increase soon, management of the public power corporation, the increase of accidents at work such as at the Bulqiza mine and other social topics.
