TIRANA, Nov 23 – The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Albania marked World Television Day with a conference on media challenges and Albanian television.
The conference brought together the Albanian media community from the capital and other regions to discuss matters such as freedom of expression, editorial independence, communication between media organizations, self-regulation, digitalization and media labor relations.
Representatives of state institutions in charge of media development, such as the National Council of Radio and Television and the Assembly Media and Education Committee, as well as from the OSCE Office of the Representative on Freedom of the Media, took part in the conference.
The conference was part of a project to support the creation of a media self-regulatory body which is being implemented by the OSCE Presence in Albania and the office of the German Friedrich Ebert Stiftung in Tirana, and financed by the European Commission Delegation in Albania.
