TIRANA, Jan. 13 – Albanian Police celebrated their 95th birthday on Sunday with a series of activities and meetings.
President Bamir Topi awarded the police the Medal Of Gratitude for, “important achievements in the institutional duties making possible the qualitative increase of the standard of order and security in the country, and also the increase of the community’s trust in the State Police.”
“We shall be superior in performance towards crime, trafficking, and corruption,” said top police official Ahmet Prenci.
During the last two years, police claimed to have cracked down on 250 criminal groups and arrest some 1,000 persons.
