Politics promotes women’s presence

TIRANA, Oct 6 – The parliamentary commission in charge of the electoral code has decided that up to 30 percent of the new lawmakers should be women.
The female presence in the country’s politics has long been an issue of propaganda from both main political groupings in an effort to win more votes from women in the country.
The parliamentary commission is discussing on the new electoral code that should finish at the end of this month.
The ministry of labor, social affairs and equal opportunities also sent a draft law to be included in the new code.
At the presence there are seven female lawmakers in the 140-seat parliament.
