Prenci increases cooperation with EULEX, Croatian counterparts

TIRANA, Oct 26 – Albania’s top policeman, Ahmet Prenci, met last week with a delegation of the EULEX police in Kosovo and also his Croatian counterpart in an effort to increase cooperation in the fight against organized crime.
Prenci told Lamberto Lucas, deputy police chief of EULEX, that cooperation with partners remain a priority in the work of his institution for which they have achieved better results.
Prenci said that during the last few years Albanian police have organized 63 joint operations with counterparts from Kosovo, Montenegro, Italy, Germany, France, and Britain and so on.
He said cooperation with Kosovo police is continuous and that, “we should be prepared to cope with any challengeŠas crime does not recognize borders.”
Lucas mentioned the fact that exchange of information has had a positive impact on the work of police in the region.
Prenci also met with Croatian counterpart Oliver Grbi硴o talk about cooperation between the two countries and future challenges.
Albania will soon have 100 percent of its border management online and directly linked with Interpol.
Both top policemen pledged further close and intensified cooperation in the fight against organized crime.
