TIRANA, June 10 – The Tirana court has ruled that Krenar Ahmeti, a top police official in the roads department, will be suspended from his post while he is on trial facing charges of negligence and offense.
A prosecutor in the grave crimes office, and another former policeman, have been in conflict with Ahmeti and have accused him of arbitrary actions.
Ahmeti has denied he has broken any laws.
Local media also reported on a letter sent from Interior Minister Bujar Nishani to the judge asking her not to suspend Ahmeti from the post as it would damage the efficiency of the road police.
