Serbia stops network of illegal human trafficking

BELGRADE, Sep 14 – The Serbian police have uncovered a trafficking of illegal immigrants from Albania into Italy and have arrested two persons, both Bosnian citizens belonging to the organization of traffickers active in several Balkan countries.
Serbian police (MUP) in Nova Varoڠtoday arrested a Bosnian national suspected of involvement in human trafficking.
The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Bojan P., was found in his vehicle along with four citizens of Albania, three of them minors without documents. The arrested admitted that they were heading to Italy. They first walked through the border between Albania and Montenegro. Montenegrin smugglers took them by car into Serbia, where they crossed on foot.
An investigative judge who was given the case has ordered the suspect to remain in custody for eight days, the statement said.
The payment to organizers of such trafficking is reported to have increased to 3,500 Euros.
