TIRANA, Sep 28 – The Central Election Commission (CEC) has decided that all those political parties that failed to win seats in June’s general election should give back the money they were allocated for their campaigns.
The total amount goes to 12.7 million leks or less than 100,000 Euros. This money should be normally divided to the winning parties present in the parliament.
Only six political parties managed to get seats in the new parliament _ governing Democratic Party, the Republican Party, the Justice for Integration Party, the Socialist Party, the Human Rights Union Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration Party.
Six parties that were represented in the previous parliament will have to repay a total of 95,000 Euros.
Such a move seems so unlikely in poor Albania. It has been said and decided same thing in previous elections but the money have not been turned back.
