Smuggled goods stopped

GJIROKASTER, Jan. 24 – Prosecutor’s office in southern Gjirokastra city have started a case on smuggled goods at the customs crossing point.
A truck passed the crossing point of Kakavija without being checked at the customs point. The driver turned back and did not stop the call from the Albanian border policeman.
Following that police arrested the driver and another person after finding 22 tons of coffee and two tons of apples at the truck.
The prosecutor’s office has also started investigation on three customs officials who are likely to have been involved in the corrupted case.
