BRUSSELS, Jan. 15 – European Union Foreign Police Chief Javier Solana said Monday that the long political crisis in Albania was a bad example, harshly criticising the politically tense situation luckily concluded with a last minute deal, according to Voice of America. “I think what happened in Albania was not a good example,” said Solana in an interview. He said that was not helping Albania but taking it away from Europe. “That should not be repeated,” he said, referring to the lack of cooperation between the government and the opposition. “Luckily elections were postponed and a solution was found with much intervention from our part.” Solana also said that at this moment when the world was trying to reach a conclusion on the Kosova status calm and maturity and responsibility is asked from everyone. He considered Albania’s example in resolving a crisis as a “very bad example.” (Tirana Times Staff)
