TIRANA, Oct 26 – Albania’s top officials expressed their condolences to the Kosovo counterparts on the recent tragic deaths of at least 15 persons trying to cross a river from Serbia into Hungary.
President Bamir Topi, Prime Minister Sali Berisha and Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli sent messages of condolences to their Kosovo counterparts for the loss of lives in the tragedy that happened in Tisa River.
At least 15 Kosovo Albanians drowned while trying to illegally cross a river into Hungary from Serbia.
The boating accident occurred between Oct. 14 and 16 in the Tisa River, separating Subotica in Serbia from Szeged in Hungary.
A man and two children survived after the boat carrying 18 or 19 people sank.
A number of persons have been arrested in Kosovo, Serbia and Hungary for allegedly being involved in illegal human trafficking.
