Tirana thanks Franciscan Order assistance

TIRANA, March 24 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha met with Jos顒odrez Carballo, Minister General of the Order of Friars Minor.
Carballo said he was happy being in Albania on occasion of the foundation anniversary of the Franciscan Order in Albania and also thanked Berisha for the support the government has extended to the Franciscan Order in its initiatives and mission in Albania.
Berisha commended the Franciscan Order and its mission which has made important contributions in the intellectual and cultural moulding of Albanians as well as in several other fields of culture, thus being one of the most active factors of the Catholic Church in Albania.
The ‘Sh쮠Ndoi’ Church in Albania is turned into a visiting place by numerous pilgrims from Albania, as well as from the Balkans, pilgrims of all religious denominations and this is another example of the contribution of the Franciscan Order in the religious harmony and cooperation between the Albanians.
