KAKAVIE, July 29 – Top policeman. Ahmet Prenci, accompanied by Vice Interior Minister, Genti Strazimiri, inspected the Kakavie border crossing point at a time when it is crowded with thousands of migrants returning home for summer vacations.
The two officials said they would closely cooperate with Greek officials to facilitate the free movement of the Albanians on both sides of the border. Albanian immigrants have often waited for hours due to a lack of the proper number of police checking boxes on the Greek side. Though that has improved, there have again been cases this month when Albanians were obliged to wait overnight. (Tirana Times Staff)
