TIRANA, June 14 – President Bamir Topi held a debate regarding Kosova with Serb President, Boris Tadic, during the summit of southeast European countries in Athens last weekend. Topi interrupted after listening to Tadic speak of ethnic Albanian violence directed at Serbs in Kosova.
Topi said that Kosova developments have a different historic background and it is ethnic Albanians in Kosova who have been continuously persecuted by the former Serb authorities.
Topi said that he was urged to speak because the theme of the meeting in Athens was communication and exchanging experiences in the region as a means of increasing the political dialogue.
Topi said he met with Tadic during the meeting, but only casually. (Tirana Times Staff)
