TIRANA, Dec. 21 – Turkey’s Anadolu Agency (AA) and Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA) signed last week in Ankara a cooperation agreement which will facilitate the exchange of photographs, news and visual materials and help realize mutual training programs.
President of the AA Executive Board and Director General Hilmi Bengi said that AA and ATA shared deep cooperation for long years, adding that the new agreement will make it possible to conduct relations based on the conditions of the current period.
Both the AA and ATA are members of various news agency federations.
Bengi said that he believed relations between the AA and ATA would develop during the tenure of ATA Director General Artur Zheji strengthening their ties that would contribute to the strengthening of relations between the two countries.
Zheji said that relations between the two countries were mainly focused on industry, economy and education, adding it was high time to carry relations between the two agencies to a higher level. “There are Turkish associations that help the Albanian people and Turkish companies that make investments in Albania. We do not see a similar scene in the media. I have a suggestion. Let us prepare 2-3 files (on the media) and work on them,” Zheji stressed.
