Albania, Italy and Greece in a festival in Saranda

This week end, the city of Saranda will enjoy three nights of the Saranda-Riccione Festival organized between the Albanian city of Saranda and the Italian city of Riccione and the Greek Island of Corfu. Twinned some years ago, Saranda and Riccione have enjoyed many cultural exchanges , but the most spectacular is this three days festival which opens with the concert entitled, “La compangia dei ciarlatani saxophone quartet,” at which the participants of this group presents pieces prepared with a great deal of care and elegance by an artistic troupe with years of tradition. There were performances in Ksamil and in the Castle of Lekuresi, very important tourist resorts. The ancient and trasditional songs and dances from these three countries have made a big impression on the large audiences. “We are more than committed to hold other activities of this kind apart from the festival in which the three states participate with seven different groups. “The Municipality and the artistic associations of Saranda regard this festival as a promotion not only of the culture of Mediterranean coastal cities, but also as a trouist promotion for the southern city of Albania,” said one of the Municipal officials to the local media.
