TIRANA, Nov. 9 – Albania’s Eljan Tanini has been announced the winner of this year’s sixth edition of the Fokus international competition of artistic photography. Tanini was awarded the top prize for his “like father’s kiss” photo featuring a father kissing his child from a train window.
The second prize went to Kosovo’s Nita Zeqiri while Turkey’s Murat Saygıner grabbed the third prize for his “Absolution” photo.
Ninety-three professional photographers were selected for the sixth edition of the Fokus international competition of artistic photography whose winners were announced on November 5 in a ceremony at an arts gallery of the southwestern city of Fier. The short-listed artists, selected out of hundreds applications, come from Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Greece, Serbia, Montenegro, Turkey, Germany, Denmark, the United States, India, Pakistan etc.
An international jury composed of 3 artists will announce this year’s winner of the international competition, which is becoming a new tradition in Fier and Albania.
The Fokus competition is an artistic activity aimed at identifying and evaluating the health and vitality of artistic photography and to detect underlying trends, organizers say. In addition, it is an opportunity for a free and transparent expression in the world of artistic photography
