TIRANA, Dec. 5 – Some of Albania’s most famous international classical musicians are coming together to perform in the “Different Trains” festival held in frame of centenary of independence. The event scheduled for December 7, 9 and 10 at the Academy of Arts in Tirana and the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet will bring back to Tirana internationally renowned Albanian instrumentalists such as France-based violinist Tedi Papavrami, Milan-based violinist Klajdi Sahatci, Dorian Xhoxhi, the first violin in the Berliner Philarmoniker Orchestra and Vlorent Xhafaj, cellist at Kammerorchester Basel” and since 2012 co-solo at the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Some other renowned foreign instrumentalists such as Italian pianist Andrea Rebaudengo, French pianist Francois-Frederic Guy, and Spanish violinist Joaquin Riquelme Garcia will also be performing in the concert.
Cellist Vlorent Xhafaj, one of the festival’s organizers says that the event in the centennial of independence is also a message of unity. “When performing at home you always have a special feeling. Considering that me, Dorian Xhoxhi or Klajdi Sahatci have not performed in Albania since we left the country to study abroad, the excitement becomes bigger,” said Xhafaj. The musicians will perform parts by Brahms, Beethoven, Shostakovich, Schubert etc.
