Following the successful stage of Puccini’s Tosca from February 16 to 20, Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata will be the new premiere at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The opera coming in a ballet will stage from March 7 to 10 as an Albanian-Italian cooperation on the 200th birth anniversary of Giuseppe Verdi, Italy’s most famous composer.
In Albania, La Traviata has seen six productions with the absolute premiere in 1956. This is a commemorative production which is dedicated to the performers of the Violetta in the 60-year history of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet, says director Zhani Ciko.
The National Theatre of Opera and Ballet will offer a choreographic reinterpretation of Verdi’s most famous operas to honor twelve performers of Violetta during its sixty-year history as an Opera House.
. The orchestra is conducted by maestro Eno Koco, while ballet dancers Enada e Gerd Vaso will be the show’s soloists and choreographers in a set design by Erald Bakalli and costumes by Ardi Asllani. This show is organized in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture on the occasion of 200th anniversary of birth of the famous composer.
Soloists Gerd Vaso and Enada Hoxha will be performing the lead roles of Violetta and Alfredo in the opera which will be staged on March 7, 8, 9, and 10 at 19.00.
