TIRANA, Dec. 15 – After his successful debut with the award winning “Dreaming American” biopic, Albanian-American actor Praq Rado has released two new short films “The Park” and “The Waiter.”

Speaking in an interview with Albanian media, Rado, 34 who left Albania at the age of 16, says he hopes both of his latest short films will have the success of the 2012 “Dreaming American” which has claimed seven awards in international film festivals.

“I’m in the lead role in both films. It’s interesting because they are quite different roles. ‘The Waiter’ is about a waiter who has no idea what being a waiter means while ‘The Park’ focuses on an American Roman catholic family,” he says.

The actor’s new challenge is turning Dreaming American into a feature film.

Based on a true story, “Dreaming American” is a humorous, sad, and always compelling story of courage, living by one’s wits, and the struggle to make it in America. Rado played the leading role in the bio film directed by Emmy Award winner Lee Percy, Executive Producer Oscar Nominated Barbet Schroeder and co-starring an Emmy Nominated Giancarlo Esposito

“After escaping a dangerous country, a young man fights to keep his body, his dignity and his dream alive. Survival is the first order of business in New York City but he strives to achieve more and when success comes within his grasp he finds himself up against an uncaring immigration bureaucracy.”

Praq Rado was born and raised in Albania in the tourist mountain area of Theth and left Albania at 16 for the U.S. where his acting dream came true.
