TIRANA, May 22 – The Albanian foreign investment promotion agency, Albinvest, will become a one-stop shop center in a few months, deputy Economy Minister Eno Bozgo has said.
Bozgo, who is also chairing a working group to reform Albinvest, said that the state agency will soon have a new structure under a new law.
“We potentially expect to have a totally new agency with a more advanced concept next September,” Bozgo told Alsat TV.
Under the new structure, Albinvest is expected to be led by a board chaired by Prime Minister Sali Berisha and other cabinet ministers to make the agency’s efforts in attracting foreign investments more efficient and create a friendlier business climate.
The Albanian government has assigned AlbInvest three strategic goals including assisting and accelerating the inflow of foreign investment into the Albanian economy, improving the competitiveness of Albanian exporters, and providing professional services to assist the growth of Albanian SMEs.
AlbInvest provides investors with up-to-date information on the investment climate, investment incentives, and the legal framework relating to the investment process in Albania. It also assists investors to obtain the permits and licenses required by national and local authorities, speeding and facilitating their investment projects.
